"The Smithsonian Folkways Collection " est un coffret de cinq CDs qui rend hommage au musicien et bluesman à la voix aiguë et puissante, Lead Belly. Expert de la guitare à douze cordes, il ne connut qu'une gloire posthume (après 1949). Cette compilation comprend cent huit morceaux dont seize inédits, un livre d'une centaine de pages, des photos rares et des enregistrements radio pour la WNYC. La collection est compilée et produite par l'archiviste Jeff Place et Robert Santelli, directeur exécutif du GRAMMY Museum à Los Angeles. On ne peut que vous inviter à découvrir cette musique Blues folk qui fait partie du patrimoine de la musique américaine ! (CL)
