Le label BGP, sous-label d'Ace Records édite cette superbe compilation du poète et chanteur Gil Scott-Heron. The Revolution Begins : The Flying Dutchman Masters regroupe ses trois premiers album: 'Small Talk at 125th and Lenox' [1970], 'Pieces of a Man' [1971] et 'Free Will' [1972] remasterisés, ordonnés d'une nouvelle manière et proposant une version alternative de l'album 'Free Will', et ce grâce à un accès quasi-illimité aux bandes master. Le coffret est augmenté d'un beau livret de plus de 50 pages contenant les textes de certains poèmes, un essai du Dj et collectionneur Dean Rudland et une belle série de photos. Excellente parution qui remet en perspective les talents d'écrivain, de compositeur et le sens aigu de l'activisme d'un personnage hors du commun au destin tout aussi inclassable. (pth)
