Peter Bastian grew up in a very musical family. He started playing the piano when he was six years old. Later when he was studying thearetical physics at the University of Copenhagen, he starded receiving private lessons on bassoon. He became a student of the world-famous conductor Celibidache and went on concert tours with him. He is now one of the most welknown and highly acclaimed musicians in Denmark. He masters the art of playing both Balkan inspired music in the group Bazaar and classical music in the Danish Wind Quintet. He teaches classical bassoon and chamber music at the Royal Danish Acadamy of Music. He is often featured on T.V, and has written a book "The inner side of music".
