Alex Acuña South American, Caribbean, African and American Jazz for drums and percussion features 4 performances with his band "The Unknowns" and extended solo performance featuring drums and percussion instruments from South America, Africa and Caribbean. These songs include rhythmical stylings of South America jazz, Afro-Peruvian jazz, Cajun-Latin music, Modern Latin jazz, and a fusion of African, Cuban and Peruvian rhythms. Instructional segments include patterns for drums, timbales, congas, the African djembe and the Peruvian cajon, with demonstrations of such rhythms as the Venezuelan Joropo and Ondanueva, the Brazilian Samba, and the Argentinian Chacarera. He also introduces the new Peruvian percussion instrument he designed, the Alex Acuña King Cajon.
