JON a étudié avec des artistes aussi différents que Dave Liebman, Wynton Marsalis, Dick Oatts, Jason Moran, Billy Drewes, Greg Fishman, Roscoe Mitchell, Greg Osby, Jon Gordon, Vijay Iyer, Evan Parker, et Victor Goines, et a joué et / ou enregistré avec des musiciens comme Billy Joel, Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Joey DeFrancesco, Tom Harrell, Kenny Barron, Dave Liebman, Kenny Wheeler, Renée Fleming, Michael Bublé, Kenny Washington, Lou Reed, John Taylor, Rufus Reid, Mary Halvorson , John Hébert, ou Evan Parker...
