The improvisations were totaly unprepared and were conceived at the moment of recording so as to give an immediate musical response to the piano, the Hall and the composed pieces. In a similar way that traditional jazz improvisation can be reduced to sets of rules and laws which are then expounded and worked through during a performance, so too can the rules and laws of other style of compositions also be extracted and used in real time as a catalyst to create spontaneous musical structures" [...].
