Each song illustrates chord changes, voicings, embellishments and other essential tools that will enable you to broaden your jazz vocabulary and improvise more cretively. Andy first teach a basic version of the song, then moves into a more complex rendition while recording it on the Yamaha Disklavier. Andy plays the disk back at half-speed, giving a detailed explanation of the music as the piano keys move up and down on their own. He then dissects the tune harmonically, reforming the chordal structure while keeping the original melody. Finally, Andy contrafacts each tune, composing a new melody over the original chord structure to create a new song."
