Edward Randolph Lacy II, called Butch, is one of the well-kept secrets of Jazz. Born in 1947, in Richmond, Virginia, he was accompanist to Sarah Vaughan in 1980 and 1982, and has lived in Denmark for the last twenty years. He has done a lot of recordings with, among others, Lee Konitz, Red Rodney, Chet Baker, Putte Wickman, Gary Bartz and Bobby Shew.
