Cet album présente des extraits rares (Radio broadcasts/concerts à la radio, entre 1939-1941) du célébré sextet de Benny Goodman avec Charlie Christian + 3 bonus (the complete 1939 "jam session" by the Jerry JeromeQuartet) plages 19-22. L'occasion de (re)découvrir le rôle de pionnier du grand guitariste (1916-1942) durant sa courte carrière, avant qu'il ne soit emporté par la tuberculose.
Il est considéré comme l'un des précurseurs de la guitare électrique. Il a été un des premiers à utiliser la « guitare amplifiée » comme instrument solo en jazz et en blues, en particulier la Gibson ES-150. Il a montré la voie à BB King et autres Jimi Hendrix.
