La pianiste russe Anna Vinnitskaya et le chef polonais Krzysztof Urbański ont souvent joué Rachmaninov ensemble. Leur troisième disque pour le label ALPHA rassemble le Concerto pour piano n° 2 et la Rhapsodie sur un thème de Paganini, deux oeuvres nécessitant des moyens techniques à toute épreuve, ce que la pianiste possède à coup sûr.

Le concerto m'a semblé pesant : les accords martelés du premier mouvement sont d'une lourdeur remarquable tandis que le final aux allures triomphantes est vraiment plombé. La Rhapsodie par contre est un très beau moment de poésie et de couleurs tant au piano qu'à l'orchestre. Le thème du 24ème Caprice pour violon de Paganini est varié 24 fois de manière originale. Les interprètes font preuve de beaucoup d'imagination pour renouveler à chaque variation l'attention auditive de leur public. AG
