Voilà ce qui arrive lorsque des oeuvres mineures sont interprétées par de grands artistes ; elles deviennent tout à coup intéressantes et révèlent l'intérêt qui dormait paisiblement dans leur abandon. Le ténor Werner Güra, et les trois musiciens réunis autour de lui, ont choisi quelques airs parmi les 208 que Haydn a arrangés pour un amateur écossais qui collectionnait les vieux airs populaires de son pays. Il en résulte une musique joyeuse oscillant entre langage populaire et aristocratique. Une manière de s'encanailler dans les salons... (Qobuz.com)
