"The unique musical heritage of Louisiana has been well documented and much of the music is readily available. The jazz, rhythm and blues, cajun and zydeco singers and musicians are comparatively well-known and appreciated world-wide. Until fairly recently soul from Pelican state has rather taken a back seat. But with new recordings by people like Irma Thomas and the great Johnny Adams, and the recent higher profile of the Neville Brothers, things are started to change. However, there are still "great unknowns" deserving of a wider audience, and one of these is Bobby Powell." Original Hep'Me recordings. Recorded in the mid-70's.
