DOG DAYS OF AUGUST
John CEPHAS & PHIL WIGGINS
- Ref. KC2551
- FLYING FISH RECORDS, 1984.
"John Cephas heard some of the finest players of the intricate Piedmont blues guitar style. Vocal influences included Piedmont and Delta bluesmen, early rockers and classic country singers, but his primary influence was gospel music. Phil Wiggins was reared in Washington and learned much of his music performing with Washington artists Mother Scott, Chief Ellis, John Jackson and street performer Flora Molton. But his family came from Alabama, so there's also a deep South influence in his music, a hint of the Delta."
