Perfect est un chanteur reggae "new roots". La vague "new roots" qui commence en 2004 ou celle de "nu roots apparue en 1995 traduit la volonté de certains musiciens à un retour un reggae plus classique pour contrebalancer le ragga/dancefloor jug trop décadant. Retour à des textes engagés dans un climat positif e constructif. Ce reggae emprunte beaucoup à la façon de faire de Bo Marley, à l'internationalisation du genre.
