Excellent repérage discographique retraçant de manière "didactique" les différents courants [blues, gospel, country...] menant au Rhythm'n'blues, terme inventé par le journaliste Jerry Wexler du magazine professionnel Billboard en 1949. Voir également le volume 1 1925 à 1942 [K 5103].
Deuxième coffret d'un ensemble de 3 coffrets de 4CD retraçant de manière didactique les différents courants [blues, gospel, country...] menant au Rhythm'n'blues et ses influences. Le Rhythm'n'Blues (R&B) est un terme inventé par le journaliste Jerry Wexler du magazine professionnel Billboard en 1949 qui remplace alors le terme de "race music".

Le deuxième coffret de cette trilogie couvre l'évolution de 1942 à 1952. Un shéma au milieu du livret montre une arborescence tout à fait surprenante et décrit de façon claire les différentes influences de chaques courants avec en trame de fond la chronologie des années qui passent (on peut se procurer le poster sur le site www.rhythmandbluesrecords.co.uk).
Très bon repérage discographique accompagné de nombreuses informations.
