Voici le second album que Mavis Staples sort en collaboration proche avec Jeff Tweedy, le leader du groupe Wilco. Après leur magnifique 'You are not Alone' paru en 2010, 'One True Vine' renouvèle "l'exploit" et propose une Soul Gospel délicate et libérée de toute contrainte stylistique: Americana, Blues, ambiances Country et Folk ne font qu'un et élève cet album vers de rares intensités.
