Le terme "soul music" est apparemment utilisé pour la première fois en 1961 pour parler de cette nouvelle approche musicale qui remplacera le R&B. Ike & Tina Turner, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles (...) tout les grands noms de l'époque sont réunis et certains morceaux présentés sont devenus des classiques du genre. Cette édition CD est accompagnée d'un livret détaillé signé par Mike Atherton donnant de bonnes informations pour les personnes voulant approfondir la matière. Bonne compilation. (BB)
