Un interprète qu'il ne faut pas confondre avec Jimmy Ellis du groupe de Disco "The Trammps". Cet artiste de R&B et de Funk possède une voix puissante de Bluesman. On le retrouve sur ce disque en solo avec dix-huit morceaux très Roots qui parcourent sa carrière entre 1963 et 1972.On découvre également un livret détaillé sur sa biographie. (CL)
