SWAMP GOLD, VOL.1
RHYTHM AND BLUES PAR LABEL
- Ref. K 5663
- JIN RECORDS, 1992.
Original hits from golden era of Louisiana Swamp Pop. Recorded late 50's, early 70's. "Across the Louisiana prairie a handful of independent labels were carrying the sound of young local musicians onto the regional and national record charts. The music was a blend of New Orleans R'n'B, Country, and Gulf Coast Blues sung with a Cajun French accent. In recent years the Cajun rock and roll of the late fifties and early sixties has been dubbed Swamp Pop but at the time it didn't have a special name. It was just great rock and roll, without racial boundaries, distinguished more by emotional and unaffected performances than by instrumental or vocal sophistication."
