SWAMP GOLD, VOL.3 (ORIGINAL HITS FROM GOLDEN ERA OF LOUISIAN
RHYTHM AND BLUES PAR LABEL
- Ref. K 5665
- JIN RECORDS.
Continuation du titre: "...Louisiana Swamp Pop Music". "An R&B hybrid influenced by New Orleans R&B, country and western, and Cajun and black Creole music, Swamp pop hails from the rural and small-town communities of South Louisiana's twenty-two parish Acadiana region, as well as from the Beaumont-Port Arthur area of East Texas. Evidence suggests the genre first appeared around 1954 on the northern prairies of central Acadiana, particularly in an area of intense, sustained ethnic interaction roughly bounded by the towns of Opelousas, Sunset, Church Point, Eunice, Mamou and Ville Platte - the same area that has produced the greatest outpouring of Cajun and black Creole music.".
