Le légendaire collectif new-yorkais présente son huitième album studio « The Saga Continues » sur lequel chacun des intervenants apparaît au moins à une reprise sur le disque (jamais tous ensemble). La mythique formation menée par le leader Rza et accompagnée d'autres MC proches (Sean Price, Hue Hef, Cris Rivers,...) nous offre dix-huit nouveaux morceaux de Rap Old School aux basses vibrantes, produits par le talentueux Mathematics. Dans les textes engagés et poétiques, le Wu-Tang aborde la politique, les problèmes raciaux, la pauvreté, les discriminations et la famille. On découvre aussi pas mal d'interludes qui traitent de la condition des femmes noires et de la figure du père. L'ensemble groovy, sombre et percutant nous plonge dans l'ambiance cinématographique des salles de Chinatown à New-York. (CL)
