Duke Reid personnage incontournable de la musique enregistrée en Jamaïque. Il fonde les labels "Treasure Isle" et "Trojan" qui sont aujourd'hui des labels de référence pour ce qui concerne le reggae et ses ramifications antérieures.
Les 2 autres labels de référence dans le genre sont "Studio one" de Coxsone et "Beverley's" de Leslie Kong.
Excellent coffret 4CD (format CD), avec présentation en français.
Les morceaux présentés couvrent une période de 20 années, entre 1950 et 1970 (Ska, Rocksteady, Reggae).
