Enregistrements par Laurent Jeanneau et Shi Tanding au Guizhou en juin 2007. Les Dong sont un des groupes ethniques les plus connus en Chine. Ce cd présente des chants polyphoniques ou en solo, accompagnés de différents instruments à cordes (pipa, niutuiqin). Ils parlent de la vie quotidienne, d'amour ou sont utilisés lors de grandes cérémonies. (ASDS)
"The DONGs are probably one of the most known ethnic group in China, praised for their culture, including architecture, clothes and their polyphonic singing, the Chinese medias have paid attention to their unique culture and boosted tourism in the area, I wanted to have less known musical expressions on this cd, as well as the famous polyphonic singing performed by 5 old women and 2 male singers/musicians. Nowadays beautiful young girls dressed up in traditional clothes perform this kind of songs for crowds of tourists, here you can listen to the original versions, recorded in Shuizhai village."
