"In "Violin Waves" LALGUDI G JAYARAMAN is accompanied by the violin of Lalgudi GJR Krishnan and by the rhythmic figurations of the percussionists Karaikudi Mani (mridangam) and T.H. Vinayakram (ghatam). The repertoire is closely connected with the figure of Thyagaraja (1767-1847), a composer whose myth continues to grow, despite the passing of the centuries, because of the deep spirituality of his themes. LALGUDI's ingenuity lies in his ability to stress, during his performances, the wise tone colours as much as the rhythmic variations of his pieces.
