Taking its source material from orcas, dolphins, beluga, sperm and humpback whales, Weddell and Bearded seals, lobsters and even shrimp, the assembled crew (including Merzbow, Scanner, Lapcore, John Hanes and David Rothenberg to name but a few) have reacted to the aquatic soundtrack through a series of intelligent and often moving interactions between man and animal. Somehow managing to make electronics and the ocean seem like the most natural of bedfellows, at no point does 'Belly Of The Whale' come across as either daft or contrived - instead displaying the consummate care and attention that the various contributors have brought to bear on the project."
