Composé du guitariste-chanteur Nick Berry et du batteur Kurt Biroc, Dots Will Echo a sorti un premier album en 1991 produit par William Ackerman puis un deuxième autoproduit en 1996. Ils signent DRUNK I THE NEW SOBER/STUPID IS THE NEW DUMB qui devait à l'origine être deux disques bien distincts sur Asthmatic Kitty, le label de Sufjan Stevens. Enregistré en trois jours, leur troisième album mêle power-pop, post-punk DIY, garage et ballades noisy. [I.K]
