Trois après la disparition du songwriter de Big Star, le label américain Bar None exhume un enregistrement inédit. Intitulé Electricity by Candlelight, le disque immortalise un concert donné en février 1997 à New York, au légendaire club d'East Village The Knitting Factory. Un set en mode trio acoustique, constitué de reprises classiques country/folk, pour beaucoup inédites.
