"On his sophomore release, Fulber continues his practice of using various female vocalists. Poe, Chemda Kalili and Joanna Stevens reprise their singing roles from Conjure One's first record, while new faces include Tiff Lacey and Leah Randi. There's not a lot of difference between these vocalists; it's hard to tell whether that's because of the production (most of the vocal tracks have a uniform, subtly flanged sheen) or because the women's voices are inherently similar. Fulber himself uncharacteristically takes the mic on a dubby cover of the Buzzcocks' "I Believe", one of Extraordinary Ways' more adventurous tracks. He has a very pop-oriented songwriting style."
