POLYPHONIC POETRY
CINC
- Ref. XC421S
- AMORFON, 2006.
"The neo alternative folk band from Serbia, CINC was praised by Simon Raymonde (Cocteau Twins) for the previous album "Shine of Wot?" as "Beguiling". For this album, they made a unique enthusiastic album in the motif of classic poetries. Used poetries by a medieval poet FRANCOIS RABELAIS (1494-1553), FRANCOIS VILLON (1431-1463), GOETHE (1749-1832), BAUDELAIRE (1821-1867), etc. as lyrics adventurously, but the songs (that are sang in English, Serbian, French, German, Czech and Japanese) are very refreshing. Male & female vocals on guitar, bass, violin, steel pan, rhythm machine and percussions are well-balanced so that they music is natural & friendly very much. With funny stuffs like Karate terms that Irena Vanic sings, kazoo & mouth harp, humor and beauty are mixed intellectually."
