SUPER AMERICA
DIRTY FACES
- Ref. XD599U
- BRAH RECORDS, 2005.
"The Pittsburgh-based band Dirty Faces specializes in raucous, no-frills rock that takes cues from both post-punk (Pere Ubu, for one) and 1970s hard-rock acts (imagine the Faces, but, well, dirtier). There's also a healthy dose of classic indie bands like Royal Trux and Pussy Galore. On 2005's SUPERAMERICAN, the group, led by singer T. Glitter, gleefully charges through amped-up, art-damaged songs about good times gone bad--standouts include "Drug Free America" and "1974"--only occasionally stopping to quiet things down (see the sleepy "High Holy Days")." www.dealtime.com
