Ce coffret réunit les 8 premiers albums de Bob Dylan, du «Bob Dylan« en 1962 à «John Wesley Harding« en 1968. En ces temps là, tous les groupes enregistraient en mono, technique consistant à utiliser une seule piste mixant la voix et la musique. Ces 8 premiers albums de Bob Dylan sont donc disponibles pour la 1ère fois en version mono, dans leur version originelle et ne seront pas commercialisés à l'unité .. Nombreux sont les fans de Bob Dylan attendant ces fameuses versions mono qui existaient par ailleurs sur beaucoup de pirates mais avec une médiocre qualité sonore... Les 93 titres de ce coffret vont permettre de comprendre la spontanéité et le génie de Robert Zimmerman. Pas d'enrobage sonore, mais des versions de ces classiques tels qu'il les a enregistré, bruts de décoffrage. Chaque album de ce coffret est en paper sleeve, réplique des albums vinyls de l'époque, et est accompagné d'un livret de 64 pages écrit par Greil Marcus écrivain reconnu sur le sujet Dylan.
