Composé par Pete Townshend, "Tommy" retrace l'histoire d'un garçon sourd, muet et aveugle. "Tommy" est encore aujourd'hui une oeuvre complexe, ambitieuse, toujours controversée mais reste sans conteste l'opéra-rock le plus célèbre. Ces nouvelles éditions contiennent 20 démos issues des archives de Pete Townshend et un concert de 1969 reprenant l'intégralité de l'album, enregistrement dont Townshend avait demandé qu'on brûle les bandes.
