VOLUPTUOUS VULTURES
FE-MAIL
- Ref. XF260J
- PSYCH FORM RECORDS, 2006.
"Improvised Norwegian noise featuring French horn, sound samples, screaming vocals, creepy whispers, and acoustic & electronic ingenuity that simultaneously prey upon and gratify your senses. During the mid 90's, Maja Ratkje and Hild Sofie Tafjord developed as SPUNK and have filled out quite nicely as Fe-mail since the millennial turn. These laptop lovelies seduce you into Voluptuous Vultures slowly with low tremors, field recordings, and streaming minimalist horn. Cataclysmic tremors intensify as the ground gives way to earth shaking rumblings. Eventually you get sucked into Fe-mail's industrial cosmic blow dryer that's permanently stuck in reverse. Invasive sonic effects pile it on heavy as Ratkje's manic mantras fight for air. Pretty spooky and miniscule at times but exhibits the daunting ability to grow into monstrous proportions. It's textured and versatile as it keeps you in evolving avant sci-fi suspense mode. Its noisier moments aren't confined to incessant Merzbow-zian assaults either so the frequencies never inundate or overload on that level? but still pretty damn ravenous." http://spidey.kfjc.org
