PSEUDO CODE

  • Ref. XP908B
  • PLINKITY PLONK RECORDS, 2012. Enregistrement 1981-1988.

We go back in the 80s when the cold wave and the industrial music had conquered Europe's underground scene. From one side the nihilist scene of Sheffield (Throbbing Gristle, Clock DVA, Cabaret Voltaire) and on the other hand the Berlin's diy industrial scene (Einstürzende Neubauten, Die Tödliche Doris, X-Mal Deutschland). It sounds quite weird for the furious teenagers in Belgium to stay out of this noisy game. This is the period that a lot of small labels start discovering the new sound, releasing cassettes and 7 "inches with brand new bands and local heroes. Insane music and Sandwich records were the most important ones, releasing sound material by bands like Human Flesh, Bene Gesserit, Polyphonic Size, Kid Montana and Pseudo Code. Guy Hinant, Xavier S and Alain Neffe, founder of Insane music and member of a great number of fascinating local bands, met together and started action under the name Pseudo Code from 1979 to 1982 exploring new musical forms and not friendship. They used rhythm box, synthesizers, pedals and vocals, it will remind you Throbbing Gristle's Andrew Megson characteristic singing, and they managed to release a series of 7"inches, cassettes and one and only full length album called Europe. With Helpful Hands is their new CD compilation of unreleased stuff about the group that is just out by Plinkity Plonk Records.
